Janice Donnetta Brown, 81, of Santa Fe, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Born on March 10, 1944, in Washington, Missouri, Janice was the daughter of James "Ted" and Faye (Dickinson) Jett. She married Wilbern "Merle" Brown on April 22, 1971. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2025.

Janice was known for her generous heart and her unwavering commitment to family. She had a passion for sewing and took great joy in creating things for others. She welcomed everyone with open arms and always made people feel included. Her fierce love for her family was evident in everything she did—family was her world, and she would do anything for them.

She is survived by two sons, Rorie (Michele) Gist of Santa Fe and Jamie Brown of Florida; two grandchildren, Shayne (Felicia) Gist and Gracie Brown; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Rayden, and Maverick Gist; and one sister, Marsha (Dave) Lakebrink of South Carolina.

In addition to her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Jett, and her sister, Erline Borgmann.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265.
