Janet Lee Belcher, 74, of Thompson, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her daughter's home in Lees Summit.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Kevin Wilkerson will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until time of service on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the funeral home.

Janet was born on October 29, 1951 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Vallie and Naomi Jean (Dorris) Furlow.  On May 28, 1971 she married Randall "Randy" Belcher in Thompson, who preceded her in death.  Janet was a 1969 graduate of Mexico High School.

Janet's early years were shaped by travel as the daughter of a military family, including time spent living in Germany. She later devoted several years to working as a library aide, where she shared her love of reading by teaching young people valuable library skills. Janet found joy in many creative pursuits, including quilting, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch, and proudly displayed her quilts at the Centralia Library quilt shows. She also enjoyed reading and gardening in her quieter moments. Above all, Janet's greatest fulfillment came from caring for her husband, Randy. When asked about her life's ambition, she would simply say it was "to be a great wife and mother," a goal she truly lived out every day.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary (Scott) Shields of Maryville, Jennifer Belcher of Lee's Summit, Sara (Jim) Wombwell of Warrensburg and Kathryn (Ross) Roberts of Nescopeck, PA; one son-in-law, Buddy Wimberly; one granddaughter, Rachel Shields; two grandsons, Raiden and Ryker Roberts; three sisters, Dawna Jenkins of Derby, KS, Jeannie Linnell of Augusta, KS and Susan Humble of Derby, KS; and her beloved dog "Ralph"

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Belcher, her parents, Vallie and Jean Furlow and one brother, Mike Furlow.
