Jacqueline J. Wessel, 62, of Fulton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at River City Living Community in Jefferson City.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at East Lawn Memorial Park.  Kevin Wilkerson will be officiating the service.

Jacqueline was born on September 12, 1963 in Mexico, the daughter of Don and Jane Shire.  She grew up in the community she loved and developed deep roots. On November 15, 1986 she married Mike Wessel in Mexico.  They shared 39 years together, building a life grounded in family, faith, and a shared passion for American Saddlebred horses – creating memories and a legacy that will endure for generations.

Jacqueline graduated from high school in Mexico, Missouri, and earned her degree from the University of Central Missouri.  She dedicated 32 years of her professional life working alongside Dr. Dilip Parulekar, where she was known for her loyalty, strong work ethic, and compassionate care for others. Jacqueline was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mexico.  One of her greatest joys was raising American Saddlebred horses with her husband, Mike.  She also proudly served as a board member of the Missouri Futurity Breeders Challenge, giving back to the sport and community she loved so dearly.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Wessel of Fulton; two daughters, Makayla Wessel of Murfreesboro, TN and Marissa (Dalton) Brissette of Fulton; one grandson, Kobe Wessel; her mother, Jane Shire of Mexico; one sister Susan (Casto Fernandez) Selle of Cary, NC.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her father Don Shire.

Jacqueline's legacy is one of love, devotion, grace, and steadfast support for her family and community.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
