Hunter was born on July 15, 2003, in Farmington, Missouri, to Ryan Melton and Amanda Short. He married Karmyn Christeen Jennings on June 26, 2022, in Byrnesmill, Missouri.

In 2022, Hunter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he formed many lasting friendships and became a respected mentor to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his military family.

Hunter was a devoted husband and a loving father. Known for his selfless nature, he was always there for his family, offering support, strength, and unconditional love. His greatest joy in life was his family, and the love he gave will continue to live on through them.

Hunter was known for his kind heart and the way he cared for others. He brought a sense of strength and comfort to those around him and had a presence that made people feel at ease. He touched many lives in ways that will not be forgotten, and his impact will continue to be felt by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Karmyn Jennings; his three daughters, Alexandria, Madilynn, and Brynlea Short; his mother, Amanda Short; his father, Ryan Melton; his sisters, Marissa Young and Micki March (Lucas March); his Mawmaw, Melanie Short; his nana, Debbie Groves; his aunt, Heather Short; his cousins, Eric Scott, Maverick Scott, and Shyla Scott; his in-laws, William and Jackie Jennings; his aunt, Christeena Matthews; his grandfather, Chuck Matthews; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his aunt, Chasity, and his papa, Wayne Short.

Hunter will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten by all who knew him.
