Howard L. Hinze, Jr., 81, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Howard was born on July 14, 1940, in Mexico, the son of Howard L. and Mildred Evelyn (Rose) Hinze, Sr. On May 28, 1960 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Mexico, he married Patricia J. Offutt. She passed away on October 21, 2012.
Mr. Hinze was a 1958 graduate of Mexico High School and served in the Missouri National Guard. He had worked as a lineman for REA, carpenter and as a farmer, which he truly enjoyed. Howard also loved showing horses.
Survivors include one son, Greg (Sasha) Hinze of Wellsville; one daughter, Tori (Gary) McCaw of Montgomery City; six grandchildren, Deena (Joseph) Sledge of Chicago, Jessica Hinze of Hannibal, Tyler (Shanice) Jewell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Andi Hinckle of Wellsville, Rachel (Brian) Campoy of Hillsboro, and Rebecca McCaw of Tulsa, Oklahoma; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gary (Sue) Hinze of Excelsior Springs.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Hinze, Sr.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
