Hans was born on March 23, 1929 in Nassowen, East Prussia, the son of Franz and Augusta Neumann. On June 30, 1957, he married Barbara Love in Bellflower. She preceded in him death on December 11, 2025.
He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, carrying a quiet strength and sense of duty that stayed with him throughout his life. He dedicated many years as a Senior Project Manager at A.P. Green Fire Brick Plant, where his leadership and work ethic earned the respect of those around him. He was an active member of the VFW, Elks Lodge, and Kiwanis, always finding ways to serve his community. His faith was an important part of his life, and he shared it as a devoted Sunday school teacher and member at the First Presbyterian Church. He also was an active 4-H club leader, guiding and encouraging others along the way. A talented woodworking artist, he also enjoyed drawing house plans and creating with his hands. He found peace outdoors—whether gardening, fishing, or simply taking in nature. He also cherished traveling, especially the winters he spent in Texas. Above all, he loved his family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine (Todd Marshall) Alexander of Mexico; five grandchildren, Austin (Michaela) Alexander of Mexico, Bailee Alexander and Luca of Phoenix, AZ, Virginia Neumann of Mexico, Zackary Neumann of California and Michael Muellerleile of California; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister in-law, Esther Kimbley of High Hill; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends.
Hans was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; one son, Richard Neumann; his parents, Franz and Augusta Neumann.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Monroe Manor in Paris. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
