Genrose Alice Baclesse, 85, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Boone Hospital Center.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Brendan Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Genrose was born on February 22, 1938, in Mexico, the daughter of Charles Joseph and Loretta (Nolte) Niekamp, Sr. On June 1, 1957, in Mexico, she married Joy Lee Baclesse. He passed away on February 3, 2020.

Genrose had worked for Florsheim Shoe Factory and ran a daycare in her home. She loved kids and truly enjoyed caring for them.

Mrs. Baclesse was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and had attended St. Brendan School as a child.

Survivors include three children, Sharon (Marty) Hildebrand of Mexico, Randy Baclesse of Mexico and Barb (Brad) Miller of Santa Fe; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Ruthie (Lyndal) Barker of Mexico, Rita Meador of Wellsville, Patty Niekamp of Mexico and Brenda Fike of Mexico.

In addition to her husband, Joy, Genrose was preceded in death by one son, Rick Baclesse; four brothers, Eugene Niekamp, Charles Niekamp, Gerald Niekamp and infant Marvin Niekamp; and one sister, Elaine Niekamp.
