Freddie C. Branham, Jr., 78, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.

Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 29 , at Arnold Funeral Home with Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Private entombment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Park Columbariums.

Visitation is Sunday, September 29 , from 12 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Freddie Branham, born on February 5, 1946, in Paris, was the beloved son of Freddie C. and Edith Velma (Rouse) Branham, Sr. He married Mary Sue Black on May 21, 1977, in Mexico, and was a dedicated husband until her passing on March 19, 2022.

Freddie worked for many years at A.P. Green, retiring in the early 2000s when the company closed. He was a member of Sunrise Christian Church and was known for his woodworking skills and his passion for restoring old cars. Freddie also enjoyed smoking meats and was a dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and NASCAR. His legacy of love and craftsmanship will be remembered by all who knew him. Freddie also had a love for dogs and his companion, Squirt, never left his side.

Survivors include three children, Debbie (Paul) Appling of Columbia, Danny (Brenda) Branham of Mexico, and David (Melissa) Sampo of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Erica Helling of Columbia, Jessica Helling of Columbia, Ryan Helling of Mexico, Cole Branham of Mexico, Sydny (Dalton) Logerman of Laddonia, Zoey Hull of Mexico, Austyn (Mayson) Sampo of Mexico and Aaryn Sampo of Mexico; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Branham; his parents, Freddie and Velma Branham; and one sister, Mary Edith Black.
