Eric Whelan Barnes, 67, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Eric was born on August 12, 1955, in Mexico, the son of Howard and Barbara (Brown) Barnes. He married Ann on September 8, 1995, in Columbia.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; two children, Katherine Barnes (Andrew Lentz) of Wilmington, North Carolina and Matthew (Vanessa) Barnes of Centralia; two step-children, Amy (Jake) Stacey of Richmond, Virginia and Natalie Richardson of Centralia; seven grandchildren, Cameron Barnes, Stephanie Danger, Brandon McCoy, Ann-Marie Stacey, Dylan Richardson (Cheyenne Murphy), Heather Richardson and Taylor Richardson; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gaylan (Robyn) Barnes, Randy (Carol) Barnes and Linn (Diane) Barnes; one sister, Carolyn Joy Mozingo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eric is preceded in death by granddaughter, Tylee Barnes; his parents, Howard and Barbara Barnes;and two brothers, Ronald Barnes and Lonald Barnes.
