Elvin Frederick Davenport, 82, of Mexico, Missouri passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus on June 6, 2023.  Fred was born February 6, 1941 to Hadley and Rosalie (Beasley) Davenport at their home in Thompson, Missouri.   He was married to Brenda McCormack on October 20, 1972 in Mineola, Missouri.

Fred was a 1959 graduate of Mexico Senior High School.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a truck driver for Wetterau Foods for many years and later an independent driver until his retirement.  Fred enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the river, camping, fishing, playing canasta, solving crosswords and watching motorsports. Fred was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Mexico.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years Brenda, children Dana (Jim) Jones, Scott Davenport, Christy (Justin) Whitworth and Michael (Jessica) Keeter, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother Lawrence (Wanda) Davenport and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hadley and Rosalie Davenport, a brother Richard Davenport and sister-in-law Charlene, his sister Lois Polacek and brother-in-law Alan and his great nephew Jacob Davenport.

In accordance with Fred's wishes there will be no formal services.  A celebration of Fred's life may be held at a later time.
