Elmer Anthony Salmons, 73, of Mexico, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital.

Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Elmer was born on December 13, 1950 in Fulton, the son of Elmer Earl and Grace Waunita (Foster) Salmons.

Elmer passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of adventure and service. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, often found hunting and fishing in the beauty of nature. A devoted fan of professional wrestling, Elmer enjoyed cheering on his favorite wrestlers from the comfort of his home. He proudly served his country for two years in the Army, embodying the values of courage and commitment. Elmer will be remembered for his zest for life and the joy he brought to those around him.

Survivors include one brother, Ricky Lee Salmons of Fulton; one step-son, Paul (Ann) Beasley of New Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Samantha (Jeremy) Hermreck of Troy, Sierra Forsee of Jefferson City, Hannah Beasley; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jonah and Noeah Hermreck, and good friend Bill DeOrnellas.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Grace Salmons; significant other, Mary Johnson; one sister, Anna Lea Thomas.
