Frances Earlene McCord, 79, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laddonia Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Earlene was born on November 12, 1944, in Mexico, the daughter of Wilbur Earl and Edith Irene (Trabue) Webber. On August 21, 1966, in Mexico, she married John T. McCord. He passed away on January 23, 1992.

Mrs. McCord was a 1962 graduate of Community R-6 High School and was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2004.

Earlene enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Prairie Pine Quilt Guild. She was always ready to go and really valued her time with friends. She especially loved going out to eat. Watching her great-grandkids play tee ball and soccer were moments she cherished.

Survivors include one daughter, Becky (Lindell) Garrett of Mexico; one daughter-in-law, Stephanie McCord of Mexico; three grandchildren, Chad Mattingly (Lindsey Witmer) of Moberly, Nick Mattingly of Mexico, and Libby Mattingly of Auxvasse; three step-grandchildren Christina (Corey) Lohse, Matthew Garrett and Devon Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Carson Mattingly and Lucas Mattingly; eight step-great-grandchildren, Dylan, Aurora, Marie, Julian, Delmar, Marcus, Cameron, and Aiden; one brother, Richard (Gaytha) Webber of Laddonia; one sister, Judy Ellis of Mexico; and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Rutter (Carl Jeffries) of Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, John, Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edith Webber; and one son, Bryan McCord.

Memorial donations may be made to the Audrain Humane Society Fostering Efforts. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
