With profound sadness we announce the passing of Quentin Dwayne Jones 68, of Thompson on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. With many loving family members at his bedside, he lost his battle with cancer.
Dwayne was born on September 13, 1954, in Mexico, the son of Jacque Raymond and Mary Ellen (Williams) Jones. On May 25, 1974, in Mexico, he married his soul mate Rhonda Fay Branson.
Mr. Jones graduated from Mexico High School in 1972. He earned an associate's degree as a drafting engineer from Linn Tech. He spent his career working for the local telephone company as an outside drafting engineer.
Dwayne was devoted to his wife and kids. He loved taking vacations with the whole family including his beloved grandchildren and great grandchild. They enjoyed boating and tubing at the lake and hanging out bbqing poolside in Branson MO. He was happiest when sitting on his front porch, drinking coffee and watching the hummingbirds with Rhonda his wife and best friend. He enjoyed going to the casino and winning big and just spending time playing cards with Rhonda and other close family members including his adored mother Mary Ellen who passed away in 2020. He loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed snagging trips and anytime all the family could get together. Family was extremely important to him. Dwayne was generous, selfless and always saw the best in people. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Jones of the home; three children, Jessica Jones (Chad Fuemmeler) of Mexico, Jennifer Jones of Mexico and Quentin Jones of Thompson; six grandchildren, Hunter Fuemmeler, Hale Fuemmeler, Jenica Wieberg, Claira Wieberg, Aspen Jones and Audrie Jones, all of Mexico; one great-grandchild, Parker Dwayne Hall of Mexico; two sisters, Jackie (Frank) Berry of Rocheport and Jeannie Jones of Ashland; and two brothers, Seth Allen Jones III of Hannibal and Robert Jones of Moberly.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jacque Jones and Mary Ellen Jones Davis.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 21, at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Friday from 2 – 3 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home.
