Dorothy Mae Gibbons, 88, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 21, at Arnold Funeral Home. Private interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on September 23, 1936 in Mexico, the daughter of Stewart and Clara (Pasley) Garrett. On October 15, 1977 in Mexico, she married John Gibbons.

Mrs. Gibbons graduated from Community R-6 High School. She was a secretary for her husband's business, John Gibbons Trucking and Excavating. Dorothy loved the St. Louis Cardinals and her grandchildren. Her world revolved around them. After retirement, John and Dorothy liked to travel on their motorcycle all over the United States.

Survivors include her husband, John Gibbons of the home; one son, Larry Gieseker of Martinsburg; one daughter, Robyn (John) Smith of Mexico; one step-daughter, Tonya (Darrell) Thoenen of Benton City; one step-son, Brad (Debbie) Gibbons of Mexico; one step-daughter-in-law, Angie Gibbons of Benton City; her grandchildren, Melissa (Andy) Garnett of Columbia, Julie Gieseker of Columbia, Chris (Alexis) Gieseker of Martinsburg, Jenny Winters of Columbia, Kaylee (Dane) Omohundro of Clarksville, Shelby (Jason) Anderson of Columbia, Kimberlee (Mark) Schlabach of Paris, Clint Smith of Columbia, Jamie (Jason) Pehle of Mexico, Tyler Gibbons of Mexico, Brittany Landreth of Mexico, Brandi (Logan) Schlemmer of Mexico, Brock Lunceford of Mexico, Jessica White of Columbia, Amanda Swift of Marshall, Tessa Ward of Mexico, Samantha Winters of Middletown, and Levi Gibbons of Wellsville; and 28 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Thelma Garrett of Mexico.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Tim Gieseker; one step-son, Mark Gibbons; as well as numerous siblings and other family members.
