Doris LaVerne Johnson, 85, of Mexico, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Born on October 19, 1939, in Mexico, Doris was the daughter of Virgil B. and Daisy A. (Davis) Williams. On October 24, 1957, she married Francis Ray "Babe" Johnson at Love Street Christian Church in Mexico. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2008.

Doris worked at various places throughout her life, including Florsheim Shoe Factory in Mexico and Fulton from 1970 to 1990. She later worked for GenCom Transportation in Marshall for five years, followed by nine years at Audrain Medical Center. Doris spent the last 20 years of her career at Wal-Mart in Mexico.

She is survived by her children, William "Bill" (Julia) Johnson, Jeffery "Jeff" (Nancy) Johnson, Patricia "Patty" Mahan (Pam Weider), and Bonnie Jean Funk (Chris Conway of Thompson), all of Mexico. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren: Amanda Johnson of Center, Dustin (Dana) Johnson of Mexico, Ciara (Nolan) Steuber of Columbia, Stephane (Steve) Kelley of Vandalia, Sharlene (Eddie) Bennett of Springfield, Rebecca Johnson of Mexico, Joseph (Elizabeth) Johnson of Mexico, William Ray (Ashley) Johnson of Mexico, Michael Mahan of Mexico, Sarah (Richie) Rich of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Jessica (Russell) Lagud of Princeton, Kelly Funk (Caitlin Appling) of Mexico, Kaitlyn (Colton) Chaney of Mexico, Brandy (Justin) Lloyd of St. Peters, and Haley (Doug) Benedict of Jerseyville, Illinois. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, including Bryson, Charlotte, Chase, Colton, Grayson, Kaiden, Jacob, Kolby, Cody, Jayda, Mason, Savahanna, Maddie, LaTrista, Cyznek, Cyn'Quail, Jakob, Dalton, Cadence, Isabella, Paislee, Axel, Rylan, Skylynn, Ezekiel, Arabella, Christian, Aubrey, Kailee, Rilee, Owen, Zachery (Morgan) Lane, Woody (Hanna) Schoneboom, Chelsea (Alan) Westling, and Lydia (Matty) Lee. Doris also cherished her great-great-grandchildren, Liam, Layton, Riku, Cirilla, and Priscilla.

She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Jerry) Pauley of Millersburg and Joyce Johnson of Fulton.

In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Daisy Williams; four brothers: Gerold, Donald, Clyde, and Ronnie; eight sisters: Arlene, Nadine, Barbara, Wanda, Nonie, Bonnie, Gail, and Donna; in-laws, Arthur L. Johnson and Hazel I. Van Vactor Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson; grandson, Jeremy Mahan; and her dog, Charlie.

Private burial will take place at a later time.
