Doris Lee Alton, 92, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Pin Oaks Living Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Arnold Funeral Home with Jeffrey Alton conducting the service.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 2:00 until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Alton was born on December 23, 1929 in Clark, Missouri, the daughter of Otis Lee and Bertha (Brooks) Owings. On May 2, 1952, in Fort Bliss, Texas, she married Milton Alton.

Doris cared for her family in many ways.  She was talented as a seamstress and a gardener.  She canned many of the things she grew in her garden.  Doris also raised a variety of flowers in her garden.  She also had a passion for reading.  In her spare time, she would help Milton with his woodworking projects by doing the finishing work.

Survivors include her husband, Milton Alton; three sons, Byron (Elaine) Alton of O'Fallon, Kendall (Michelle) Alton of San Diego, Loren Alton of Centralia; eight grandchildren, Christopher Alton, David Alton, Matthew Alton, Jeffrey Alton, Scott Alton, Chase Alton, Courtney Alton, Sharon Winterhalter; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Bertha Owings and one brother, Elwyn Owings.
