Donald Clark Johnson, 90, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Monroe Manor in Paris.

Memorial Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Kenny Hoover officiating.

Don was born on January 16, 1935, in Hannibal, Missouri, to Charles William and Edna Hazel (Clark) Johnson. After graduating from Hannibal High School in 1953, Don attended Hannibal LaGrange College for two years and then the University of Missouri for one year. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, stationed aboard the USS Sierra in Norfolk, Virginia.

On August 9, 1959, Don married the love of his life, Geraldine Mills, at the First Baptist Church in Graceville, Florida.

Don began his career at BF Goodrich in Hannibal before transferring to the company's Mexico location, where he eventually became the manager. He later worked for Sydenstricker, where he spent around ten years, followed by a position at Dean Poage Motors in Hannibal. After returning to Mexico, he worked for Pearl Motor Company and later, Walmart, where he retired.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Don enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, and taking great pride in his meticulously cared-for yard. His passion for the simple joys of life and his dedication to his family and work will be remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry Johnson of the home; two daughters, Tammy Gish of Mexico, and Lori Huff of Andrews, Texas; three grandsons, Christopher Huff of Dodge City, Kansas, Garrett (Renee) Gish of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Mitchell Gish of Mexico; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Xavier, Braxton, Maddison, Sarah, Charley Jo, and Lincoln; and many cousins and other extended family members.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Charlotte Schlosstein.
