Donald J. "Don/Donnie" Wortmann of Martinsburg, Missouri, passed away Mon., Jan. 30, 2023, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia at the age of 88.

Don was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Josephville (St. Charles County), Missouri. He had lived in the Martinsburg area since 1961 and had farmed since his mid-teens. He also drove a concrete truck for 10 years while raising a family and managing a stock and crop farm.

He loved God, his family, animals, AC tractors, being a good steward of the land, visiting with friends and family, and going to old thresher events and tractor pulls. All who knew him will miss him.

Most of his family lived in Missouri. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jeanette (Sommer) Wortmann of Martinsburg; daughters Diane (and Dave) Davis of Columbia and Karen (and Jay) Johnson of Ashland; sons Mark (and Jane) Wortmann of Mexico, Marty (and Ann) Wortmann of Huntsville, Eddie (and Evelyn) Wortmann of Overland Park, Kansas, Danny (and Teresa) Wortmann of Wardsville, Rich (and Caroline) Wortmann of Franktown, Colorado; as well as 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brothers Floyd (and Sue) Wortmann and Leroy (and Joyce) Wortmann.

Many of his immediate family preceded him in death, including parents, Mabel (Amptmann) and Andrew Wortmann; brother David (and Dorothy); sisters Geraldine (and Ralph) Peine, Ruthie (and Ted) Wilmes, Susie (and Norman) Schroer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg with Fr. Philip Kane officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

A Visitation is Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
