Dixie Lea Byrns, 86, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 16, at Arnold Funeral Home with Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is Monday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dixie was born on February 7, 1940, in Rush Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Bill M. and Bonnie D. (Schudel) Sulgrove. On July 12, 1958, in Martinsburg, she married Leland C. Byrns. He passed away on February 8, 2010.

Dixie was a 1958 graduate of Community R-6 High School. She was a housewife and assisted her husband with the farm. She was an active member of the Benton City Presbyterian Church, where she served as Deacon and Elder throughout the years and had taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Rush Hill Extension and Sunrise Jolly Neighbors.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim Donaldson of Mexico; one son, Todd (Julie) Byrns of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jordan Donaldson of Mexico, Brooke (Shannon) Biggers of Mexico, Brittany Byrns of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Marina Byrns of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Brentley Sefrit, Brandon Biggers, Brodee Biggers, and Bennett Biggers; two sisters, Dian Reagan of Montgomery City and Debbie Dollich of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Leland, Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bonnie Sulgrove; and one brother-in-law, Bill Reagan.
