Deborah Elaine Jackson, of Mexico, Missouri, was born on December 2, 1950, in Mexico, Missouri, to Ramon and Bettie (nee Dollens) Rivers. She entered into rest on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 73.

Debbie was a proud graduate of Mexico High School, class of 1968. She soon pursued her passion for beauty by graduating from Cosmetology School. Her career began in cosmetology working for M. Power as a beautician, leading her to co-own the "Shear Heaven" salon. Her entrepreneurial spirit continued with "Design Lines," where she thrived as a mentor, and later as a regional supervisor for "Fantastic Sams" in Jefferson City, Missouri. Back in Mexico, she opened "The Cutting Edge" salon and eventually returned to "Design Lines," where she enjoyed participating in hair shows and the Miss Missouri pageants. Debbie retired from hairdressing with her cherished "Illusions Unlimited" salon family. She later worked for Walmart in various departments, including hazmat.

In addition to her successful career in cosmetology, Debbie was a skilled seamstress, painter, and crafter. She showcased her talent through her small business, "Bears, Hares, and other Wares," in the downtown Mexico mini mall, and through numerous craft booths over the years. Her creativity was boundless.

Debbie and her husband, J.W., cherished their time camping at Lost Valley Lake Resort, where they enjoyed the pleasures of ownership. She was also known for her deep knowledge and love of flowers.

Debbie is survived by her two children, Cassandra L. Duty and Monica Ruiz Vasquez, both of Mexico, Missouri; two step-children, Craig Jackson of Auxvasse, Missouri, and Johnna (Marty) Jackson of Bowling Green, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; her sister, Phyllis (Ron) Taylor of Boonville, Missouri; her brother, Rocky (Susan) Rivers of Columbia, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Jackson (2022); her parents; and her beloved brother, Randy Rivers.

In accordance with Debbie's wishes, no visitation will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the HCC Cosmetology Department. They may be sent to Hart Career Center Cosmetology Department, 905 North Wade, Mexico, MO 65265.
