Mr. Turk was born on May 19, 1943 in St. Louis, the son of Joseph Turk and Marguerite Michael. On November 22, 1975, in St. Louis, he married Sandra Welch.
David was a godly man who loved the Lord. He was extremely active at Souls Harbor Baptist Church, where he was a member. He cherished his quiet time studying his Bible. David loved to spend time golfing, drawing, float trips and traveling. His career as an over the road truck driver allowed him to experience the country. David had a special place in his heart for his country and those who served. One of the roles he enjoyed the most was being "poppy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Turk; four daughters, Dava Turk of Mexico, Deanna (Mark) Campbell of St. Peters, Jeri (Kenny) Duncan of St. Louis, Beth Brooks-McCoy of Columbia; two brothers, Jerry (Valerie) Turk of Park Hill, Joe (Theresa) Turk of Washington; one sister, Mary Gerst of St. Cloud, FL; a step-mother, Katherine Job of Washington; six grandchildren, Brooke (Justin) Beasley, Michael Duncan, Mariah Miller, Benjamin Miller, Baylee McCoy, Harrison Miller and three great-grandchildren, Max McCoy-Kemper, Quaid Beasley and Amelia Duncan.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marguerite; a son, David Joseph Turk and one brother, James Turk.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
