David Allen Ray, 57, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, June 2,2025, at his home.

David was born on April 18, 1968 in Granite City, Illinois, the son of Lonzo and Ruth Evelyn (Brock) Ray.

David was a good man—steadfast, hardworking, and full of heart. He had a sense of humor that could light up a room, and a spirited, sometimes unpredictable nature that made life around him anything but dull. Those who knew him appreciated his authenticity and his unwavering loyalty. One of the deepest bonds he shared was with his beloved service dog, Miss Muffet. She was more than a companion; she was a constant by his side, and her quiet devotion reflected the kind of man David was. She will miss him dearly, as will all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include three sisters, Janie Ray of Mexico, Diana (Michael Friedmen) Wimbish of Pontoon, IL and Nancy Roark of Vandalia as well as several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Ruth Ray and one daughter.
