Cynthia Kay Wright, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Capitol Region Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, October 17, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Cynthia was born on July 27, 1968, in Mexico, to Hazel (Clark) Carter and Kenneth Moss, and was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, David Carter. She met the love of her life, Ronald Wright, in 1988, and they were married on June 20, 2001, in Mexico.

Cynthia was a stubborn and sassy soul with a heart full of love. She cared deeply for those around her and believed in the importance of not judging others by what's on the surface and the power of forgiveness. Her strong spirit was matched by her compassion, which shone through in everything she did. Cynthia found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to her plants, crocheting cozy blankets, and playing bingo. She had a lifelong love for animals, always finding comfort and companionship in their presence. She was dedicated to her work at the Jefferson City Correctional Facility, where she took great pride in her career. Above all, Cynthia adored her husband, Ron, and cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren—whether splashing in the backyard pool or simply spoiling them with love. Her legacy lives on in the laughter, kindness, and memories she leaves behind.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Wright of Jefferson City; one son, Timothy Wright of Jefferson City; one daughter, Amanda (Ryan) DeMarco of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Chase Wright, Rylie Wright, and Ares Wright; her mother, Hazel (Clark) Carter, and stepfather, David Carter, of Mexico; and one sister, Missy Carter of Mexico.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Moss; grandfather, Frank Clark; grandmother, Francis Durham; aunt, Barbara Wade; mother-in-law, Nola Marie Wright; father-in-law, Thomas Wright; and brother-in-law, Rick Wright.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, a place Cynthia loved to visit and where she found joy spending time with the animals. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
