Connie Sue Johnson, 86, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the King's Daughters Home.

Private graveside services will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville under the direction of Arnold Funeral Home.

Connie was born on March 16, 1938, in Paris, the daughter of Jesse Franklin and Thelma Faye (Murphy) Vance. On June 21, 1957, she married Joseph "Joe" Franklin Johnson in Mexico. He passed away on November 11, 2022.

Connie was a 1956 graduate of Mexico High School. She enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In 2009, she retired from Mexico Public Schools and she was also a member of the Centralia Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Tony (Jennifer) of Salina, Kansas; a daughter, Kelli; three grandchildren, Kyle Griggs, Haden (Keirstyn) Morris, and Corey Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Cameron Morris.

In addition to her husband, Joe Johnson, Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Thelma Vance; and one brother, Larry Vance.

Memorial donations may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home, King's Daughters Home, or the Centralia Church of Christ. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson St., Mexico, MO 65265.
