Christopher Robert Swaim, 40, of Jackson Heights, New York, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. Born on April 18, 1983, in Mexico, Missouri, Chris was the beloved son of Robert and Kathy (Strange) Swaim.

Raised near Martinsburg, Missouri, Chris graduated from Community R-6 High School in 2002. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force, which afforded him the opportunity to live in various states and travel extensively, including a memorable stint in Japan.

A true lover of wildlife, Chris was known for his deep affection for nature and his dedication to spending quality time with his friends and family, especially his cherished daughter, Maya. He was a hardworking individual, always ready to lend a hand and engage with those around him. His passion for BMX was evident as he spent countless hours riding, selling, and fixing bikes. Chris also had a variety of hobbies and pursued higher education during his life.

Chris's family was able to bring him back to Missouri for his final rest in their family cemetery, a testament to his deep connection to his roots and the love he had for his family.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughter, Maya; sister, Amanda Swaim (Courtney Neale) and their children; sister, Katilyn Foreman (Jonathan Delozier) and their family; brother, Adam Swaim; and numerous other family members.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, at the Martinsburg City Park in Martinsburg, Missouri.

Private burial will be in the Swaim Family Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Swaim Family Park Cemetery. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
