Carolyn Sue Shockley, 78, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the home of her daughter.

Funeral services will held be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Arnold Funeral Home, with Kevin Wilkerson officiating the service.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 22, from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shockley was born on July 26, 1944, in Mexico, the daughter of John and Frances (Schneider) Applebee.  On July 29, 1961, she married Forrest Shockley in Mexico.

Carolyn committed 54 years working for two businesses, A.P. Green for 31 years and Home Decorators/Home Depot for 23 years.  She had many hobbies and interests which included, music (especially the piano), deer hunting, writing and painting.  Carolyn enjoyed going to the family farm and spending time with the horses.  She was known to the family as person who loved an adventure.

Survivors include her husband, Forrest Shockley of Mexico; one daughter, Cindy (Dave) Niswonger of Mexico; three grandchildren, Stacey Williams of Mexico, Randall Beasley of Mexico and Cassie (Darren) Varner of Mexico; three great-grandchildren, Camden Williams, James Varner and Cailyn Varner; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shockley was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Applebee; one son, John Shockley; one infant grandson, Johnathon Shockley; and one infant great-grandson, Demaro Beasley.
