Carol Ruth Matthiesen, 81, of Forsythe, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Cox Medical Center in Branson.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Zane Whorton officiating.

Carol was born on March 31, 1940, in Mexico, the daughter of Samuel Ford and Ruth Belle (Woodson) Stotler. On May 3, 1959, in Mexico, she married Glennard Langmoe Matthiesen. He passed away on May 16, 2020.

She worked for many years with her husband, Glen, in their business Master-Cut Tool & Die. Carol enjoyed camping, going on business trips and Casinos with Glen. They loved to go in their motor home to Pass Christian, MS.

Carol and her two sisters, Pat and Barbara, went on 29 sister trips to different places in the United States and on five cruises. No husbands were ever allowed! After Pat's death in 2018, they went on two more sister trips. Pat always said, "take me with you when I'm gone." On the last two trips they took a large picture of Pat, they called her "Flat Pat." And "Flat Pat" is here with us today.

She is survived by one son, Darren Todd Matthiesen of Forsyth; one daughter, Jill (Cort) Stuart of Galena; two grandchildren, Hailey Dawn (Dominik) Clay of Okinawa, Japan and Hunter Andrew Stuart of Springfield; and one sister, Barbara Jane Stuart of Mexico.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Glennard Matthiesen; one daughter, Krista Anne Matthiesen; one sister, Patricia Ann Nick; and her parents, Ford and Ruth Stotler.
