Betty was born to James and Margaret Myers on December 5, 1926, in Mexico, Missouri. Betty passed away on March 31, 2022, at the age of 95. Betty married the love of her life, Ernest (Sonny) Van Keeling on October 16, 1956. Betty and Ernie were long time members of Southside Baptist Church.  Her family will continue to honor her legacy by loving Christ and continuing her passion of documenting her family's genealogy, as she was considered her families historian.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Van Keeling; son, Clifford Ray Newsom; brother, William Clifford Myers; and grandchildren, David, Jimmy and Cara Newsom.

She is survived by granddaughter, Stephanie; grandson, Loren; nieces, Cristine, Kathy, Marlene and Shelly; nephew, Ron; several great and great-great-grandchildren; as well as longtime friends, Mitch and Rhonda.
