Bert Eugene Orr, 85, of Eolia, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

A celebration of life is being planned for a future date.

Bert was born on September 19, 1940 in Kansas, the son of Albert and Mildred (Johnson) Orr. On September 16, 1960 he married Judith Johnson who preceded him in death.

Bert had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in nature. He found joy in gardening, fishing, camping and tending to his horses. A talented handyman, Bert was always willing to work with his hands, whether building something new or repairing his cars. He took pride in his ability to fix things and enjoyed the satisfaction that came from working with his hands.

Survivors include four children, Melinda (Eric) Willis of Kirksville, Douglas (Erika) Orr of Waxahachie, TX, Jodi (Dean) McGill of Warrenton and Keri (Brian) Hess of Hannibal; 16 grandchildren, John (Allison) Zoltanski, Brittany (Josh) Hymer, Sarah (Matt) Scott, Caitlin Willis, Erica Willis, Jessica Willis, Josh (Rebecca) Hess, Kyle (Nicole) Hess, Nathan (Emily) Hess, Jackson Orr, Dakota Orr, Nova Orr, Jesa McGill, Martin Hess, Abbot Hess and Daniel Hess and 21 great-grandchildren.

Bert was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Orr; parents, Albert and Mildred Orr; one daughter, Debbi Hess and several brothers and sisters.
