Anna McDonald Rentschler, 73, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, surrounded by her family and wrapped in the love she gave so freely, after a life well lived. Born on April 7, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to Sarah Ann Smith and William Henry McDonald, Anna grew up under the big Texas sky—developing a fierce love for family, music, and all things Lone Star.

Anna graduated from Richardson High School, class of 1970, in Richardson, Texas. Anna, along with her twin sister, Linda, then attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

Anna met Chuck Alan Rentschler, and the two married on July 2, 1988. Together, they raised three children. Throughout their 37-year marriage, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, family, road trips, tailgates, and heartfelt moments. Together, they raised a family rooted in love and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Anna dedicated 36 remarkable years to Central Bancompany, where she retired as Vice President and BSA Officer. During her career, Anna served as a consultant and board member for several national banking associations and traveled the country providing speeches and coaching in her areas of expertise. Her excellence was recognized with many national awards, including the American Bankers Association Distinguished Service Award and the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Career Leadership Award. Anna's colleagues admired her brilliance, grace under pressure, and unwavering work ethic—though they'd all agree her true legacy lies in the mentorship she provided, friendships she forged, and the joy she spread.

Anna also lived a life of service to her community, serving as former President and active member of Kiwanis Club of Mexico, a former President and Treasurer for Chapter HD of P.E.O., Executive Director and supporter of the United Way of Audrain County, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and PTA member throughout her children's education in Mexico.

When she wasn't working or volunteering, Anna's heart belonged to her children and grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply and taught valuable life lessons. Known to her littlest loves as 'Granna,' Anna's most cherished pastime was spoiling her grandkids, cheering them on, always their biggest fan. She lit up at Mizzou Tiger football games, always tuned in for Longhorn football games, adored her monthly gatherings of the 'Bunco Babes', packed her bags for adventures both near and far, and never missed a good concert or musical at the Fox Theatre. Texas ran in her veins, music filled her soul, and family was always her anchor. Her life was a melody of love, laughter, and strength, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue playing in the hearts of all who knew her.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, Chuck, her cherished children, Jordan Foy of St. Louis, Whitney (Dustin) Lewis of Mexico, and Mitchell (Reagan) Rentschler of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Ella and Jackson Foy, Charleigh and Owen Lewis, and Emma Rentschler; her sister, Linda (Bob) Mulch; brother, John (Lauri) McDonald; countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved like family. She was, and always will be, our sunshine on a cloudy day, our hope in a rainbow after a storm, our favorite song, our most loyal champion, fierce protector, and our beloved Granna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry McDonald and Sarah Ann Smith McDonald; and her grandparents, Forrest Dewitt Smith and Grace Jordan Smith, and John Calvin McDonald and Pauline Johnson McDonald.

In her honor, put on your favorite record and play it loud, wear your black and gold or burnt orange, and remember the service, joy, and love she gave so generously.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico with Rev. Dr. Susan Presley officiating. A visitation is from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Arnold Funeral Home.

Anna's final resting places will be at the Columbarium at the First Presbyterian Church and in Hanalei Bay, Kaua'i, during a private family service, held at a later date.
