Ann Caryl (Tucker) Worland, 76, of Mexico, died peacefully at home on Monday, August 1, 2022, after prolonged illness. She was born August 10, 1945, in Oak Ridge, TN during WWII to Paul W. and Beverly (Livingston) Tucker. She graduated from The American School in London in 1963 and the University of Oklahoma in 1967 with a B.A. in Commercial Arts and Education. She wed John T. Worland, Jr. at St. Brendan Catholic Church on July 11, 1970, and the couple had two children. She taught Art in Missouri public schools for 27 years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years; her daughter, Beverly Jean (BJ) and husband, Jason Wenzel, granddaughter Erin, grandson Tristan, of Kearney, MO, and her sister, Linda Tucker Smith of Milton, MA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins living around the country. Her parents and son, John T. (Tad) Worland III preceded her in death.
Ann Caryl was a talented paper artist and wood crafter, as well as a skilled traditional Tole painter. She maintained high standards in art and in life. Family members will treasure the decorative arts and exquisite Christmas ornaments she created over the years. She especially enjoyed designing and exchanging greeting cards with friends and meeting up with a close-knit group for weekly Pizza Night. She will be remembered for her lively good humor, wide smile, and friendliness.
Memorials may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice (Bowling Green), The Kings Daughters Home (Mexico), or The Ladies of St. Brendan's (Mexico). All may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
The family expresses its profound gratitude to the many medical professionals, work colleagues, friends, and neighbors who have extended their caring and compassion for so long.
A Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
