Alicia Gay Broeker, 51, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at her home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 18, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Alicia was born on February 24, 1974 in Mexico, the daughter of Arthur Glen and Carolyn Elizabeth (Callaway) Zuroweste.  She attended Mexico High School and was a class of 1992 graduate.

Alicia was known for her big, beautiful smile that could light up any room. She had a deep love for animals and was devoted to animal rescue, especially caring for cats, which held a special place in her heart. Alicia treasured her family and the moments they shared together, always finding joy in time spent with those she loved. She took great pride in her career at Dollar General, where the relationships she built with coworkers and customers were especially meaningful to her. In her leisure time, Alicia enjoyed thrift shopping and relaxing by binge-watching her favorite television shows.

Survivors include two children, Ashley Broeker of Mexico and Samuel Broeker of Mexico; her mother, Carolyn Zuroweste of Mexico; two sisters, Sharon (Bobby) Zuroweste Hopkins of Austin, TX and Glenda Vanlandingham of Mexico as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alicia was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Glen Zuroweste.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Audrain County Humane Society. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
