Obituary
Darlene Sparks, 73 of Mexico died Sunday July 18, 2010 at Golden Living Center- Pin Oaks.
Darlene was born on December 18, 1936 in Mexico to William T. and Effie M. (Gentry) Harrison.
On June 2, 1961 Darlene married John Sparks in Mexico at the First Baptist Church.
Darlene served as a Sunday school teacher and director at First Baptist Church. She was a member of Lockewood Baptist Church, and she was a member of the PTA. Darlene worked for 40 years at the Mexico Ledger. Darlene was also a member of the Legal Secretaries Club, and was Bob White’s Personal secretary from 1986-1987.
Mrs. Sparks is survived by her husband John, of the home; two daughters, Cindy Barker and husband Kevin of Mexico, Mary Braden of Mexico; grandchildren, Heather Burnett and husband Kyle of Mexico, Scott Barker of Mexico, Tabitha Braden, and Abigail Braden both of Mexico; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Makayla Burnett; brother, Marty Harrison and wife Carol of Mexico; sister Helen McNatt of Antioch, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Harrison; sister Margaret Robinson.
