Obituary
Mabel Nell Prince, 90 of Mexico, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at her home.
Mabel was born May 30, 1919 in Vandalia, the daughter of Lone E. and Sophronia (Clifton) Sutton. On April 22, 1963 in Vandalia, she married Harold E. Prince Sr. He died on Aug. 25, 1993.
Mrs. Prince was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia. She had managed Moran’s Drapery Store in California and was a waitress at the Air-Park Restaurant. Mabel was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Vandalia.
Survivors include her children, Beverly S. Barker of Dickson, Tenn., Charles E. Thompson of Mexico, Connie B. Jackson of Mexico, Rita M. Magruder of St. Augustine, Florida and Marvin L. Thompson Jr. of Spokane, Wash.; two step-children, Mary Grant of New York and Harold Prince Jr. of Mexico; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Jean Harmon, Harry L. Thompson and Ramona Niekamp; one granddaughter, Laura Patton; one grandson, Donny Magruder; one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Wright; and several infant great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lockewood Park Baptist Church.
