Obituary
Ruth Christine Lewis, 81 of Fulton, died at 11:16 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at her residence.
Ruth was born Nov. 19, 1928 in Fulton, the daughter of Zinnie and Allene B. (Hayes) Lawson. In Sept. 1947, she married Rev. James E. Lewis in Fulton. He died on Dec. 18, 1990.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Second Christian Church. She had worked at William Woods, loved to sing, watch sports and soaps.
Survivors include three daughters, Jamesetta Van Buren of Lees Summit, Helen C. Taylor of Las Vegas, NV and Sheila Samuels of Kansas City; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Jordan Isaih Childs; one brother, William Eugene “Buck” Lawson; and two sons-in-law, William E. Van Buren and Joseph Lee Samuels.
