Obituary
Mary Ellen Schrameck, 95, departed this life on April 30, 2010. She was born on Dec. 30, 1914, the daughter of Fred and Mary Boyd. She grew up with her two brothers, Jim and Harry in Edwardsville, IL and on July 3, 1937 was married to Paul Schrameck.
In 1941 they moved to Mexico , MO where they spent their married life. Before retirement, she spent numerous years nursing at Audrain Hospital and also cared for many in their homes. She was at the bedside of her son-in-law David Stanberry when he died in 1977 and helped with the care of her daughter-in-law Rosetta Schrameck, who died in 1988. Her husband Paul preceded her 1n 1984 and her son Jerry in 1990.
In 1998 she moved to Overland Park, KS to be with her daughter Pat and her husband Ken Zagnoni. The past three years she has been a resident of Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS.
Ellen was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and a woman of great faith - a faith that never wavered. Ellen's long time motto was "smile and the world smiles with you, cry and and you cry alone." She never stopped smiling and was known at Villa St. Francis for brightening the day with singing of her many songs.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Ken) Zagnoni of Overland Park, KS, grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Clark of Overland Park, Stephen Stanberry (Cheryl) of Independence, Jeffrey Stanberry of Long Beach, CA, and Christopher (Deborah) Schrameck of LaQuinta, CA. Great-grandchildren include Tyler and Chandler Clark and Bethany and Christina Stanberry. A nephew Charles (Carol) Boyd of New Canadian, OK also survive.
Burial of her ashes and aMass will be held in Mexico at a later date.
