Obituary
Bernard A. “Barney” Steinkamp, Sr. 86 of Mexico, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his home.
Barney was born on Sept. 6, 1923 in Moberly, the son of Herman and Rose (Thieman) Steinkamp. On Dec. 25, 1946 he married Oleta Bagby in Moberly. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2010.
He was a watchmaker and jeweler working for Melody’s Quality Jewelry and Pilcher’s. He was a longtime member and past president of the Mexico Lion’s Club. Barney was also a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by a son Bernard A. Steinkamp, Jr. of Centralia and a granddaughter Amber Steinkamp or Lees Summit, MO.
In addition to his wife Oleta, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
