Obituary
Charles Ervin Stack, 66 of Mexico, passed away Dec. 16, 2009.
He was born in Cuba, MO on Jan. 13, 1943 the son of Charles M. and Julia M. (Guidicini) Stack. On Oct. 26, 1968 he married Norma J. Lanich.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Norma, a son Martin Lee Stack and his wife Michelle and their children Gabi and Shelby of Dallas, TX and a daughter Christina Unger and husband Brian and their children Emma, Jackson, and Chase of Mexico. He also leaves two sisters, Sandra Bax and husband Ted of Columbia, S.C., and Doreen Marcum and husband Mark of Tazwell, TN; three brothers, Dennis and his friend Carol of St. Louis, Dwight and his wife Cindy of St. James, and Irvin "Corky" Stack and his wife Kathy of St. James, a brother-in-law Edward Lanich and wife Judy of Blountstown, FL, and 21 nieces and nephews and their families.
He attended Blue Spings, a one room school thru the eighth grade. He transfered and graduated from St. James High School. He then attended Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy. He graduated with a degree in geology. In the early 80's he was awarded an advanced honorary degree.
Chuck served in the Army Corps of Engineers in the early 60's as a 1st Lt. After service he went to work for A.P. Green. He began as their junior geologist. At the time of his retirement in 2000, he was the Chief Geologist.
Upon his retirement, he was able to fully enjoy his love of turkey hunting. He traveled to many states for that purpose and expanded his hunting experiences to include antelope, wild boar and deer hunting.
Memorials may be made to the Audrain County Home Health Unit or the J.B. and Greta B. Arthur Cancer Center in Mexico.
