Obituary
Florence Jennings, 79 of Mexico passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Audrain Medical Center.
Mrs. Jennings was born on November 8, 1930 to Orville and Emma (Becker) Nichols in Mendon, Illinois.
Florence married Robert Jennings of Mexico on July 19, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi, and they were married for 52 loving years.
Mrs. Jennings worked for Florshiem Shoe Factory for 13 years followed by 15 years with the Mexico Public Schools. She loved traveling, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Jennings; three children, Robert Jennings Jr.; Kathy Dines and husband Tom both of Auxvasse and Sherry Yager and husband Jeff of Montgomery City; nine grandchildren, Kevin Jennings and wife April of Liberty, Kala Jennings, a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed in California; Kari Jennings of Columbia, Crystal Dines of St. Charles, Jessica (Dines) Stranc and husband Jeremy of Virginia Beach, VA, Erica Dines of Auxvasse, Justin, Derek and Dylan Yager of Montgomery City; one sister, Lucille Henry of Mexico and a brother Orville Lee Nichols of Laddonia; two great-grandchildren, Adelyn Gibbs of Columbia and Brenden Jennings of Liberty and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Calvo and Mildred Fryer, and one brother, Larry Nichols.
