Service Schedule

Adolphus "Bubba" Kyles

Service Information:
Fuenral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 31, 2009 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Karl Thomas officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday at the church.


Obituary
Adolphus was born April 20, 1920 in Greenwood, Mississippi, the son of Walter and Anna (Givens) Kyles. On December 20, 1946 in Indianola, Mississippi, he married Eliza Bankhead. She survives.

Mr. Kyles was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as usher for 15 years and sang in the Brotherhood Chorus. He worked at A.P. Green Refractories for 35 years, from 1951 – 1986. Bubba was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII from 1942-1945. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his wife, Eliza of the home, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kyles was preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters, Florence Henderson and Sallie Sims; and three brothers, Cornelius “Sonny” Kyles, Walter Kyles Jr. and Will Otis Kyles.

Memorials may be made to the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
